2019 OG League Rd 11 Results

It went downnnn in round 11! This week was like every episode of Game Of Thrones, a whole lot happened for absolutely no change in the big scheme of things. Consider the OG League well and truly setup for the next episode.. That doesn't mean we can't throw some banter!

Call Me Big Papali'i 716 defeats 381 Marximum Louw Groomed Maddogs
716!!! The biggest score of the year by 102 points, and also the BIGGEST SCORE EVER in Draft Rugby! This week Wylie had his chance to take down the man who stole his spot on the top of the log, but it definitely didn't go to plan. I could list all Call Me Big Papali'i's good scores but it would be easier just to paste the lineup here. Meanwhile, Wylie only fielded 13 players, so he was never really in the fight. Duane Vermeulen (55 points) top scored for the 2019 Charger, while Lizo Gqoboka (50), Beauden Barrett (48) and Damian Fitzpatrick (46) also scored well. Wylie has gone from a finals favourite to having the battlers nipping at his heels, fielding a full team should be an absolute must from here on in. The big win for Harry levels up the head to head at 1-1.

The Great White Hope 504 defeats 480 Burnin' Bridges
The Great White Hope continues his run of good form with a hard fought win over Burnin' Bridges. The BP win keeps him within 4 points of top spot and the first finals pick, while Nabung missed his own opportunity to jump into the top four to 3rd place. Blake cleaned up with Lachlan Boshier (70 points) playing out of his skin, while BEAST (57), like a fine wine, keeps getting better with age. Tom Banks (52) goes back to back for his new manager, while Asafo Aumua (50) also went big in his first start. Nabung bagged an attacking and losing bonus point this week off the back of Jackson Hemopo (78 points) and TJ Perenara (61). George Bridge (58) also made his return to the field well known, as did Lukhanyo Am (42). Blake's win levels the series at 1 a piece.

Otere is the new Black 573 defeats 376 Clan Mckenzie
Larry is in a deep deep whole, once again he comes away with no competition points, and the lowest score of the round. It's only going to get harder from here, with the threat of a sexy calendar looming over his head, he will no doubt be upping his time in the gym instead of studying the Draft Rugby form guides. Clan McKenzie battled away this week, but at least he had Tom Franklin (80 points) playing out of his skin. Throw in some solid scores from Tyrel Lomax (48) and Curtis Rona (41) and there are a few bright sparks left in his side. Nelson will have you know that his team "Otere is the new Black" has the 2nd highest 3 round average in the OG League. His hot run of form can be described in two words, "Sevu Reece" (105 points), he has Hulk smashed his competition every week he has started, and now he looks to be have pushed his case for a regular starting spot. Anton Lienert-Brown (86) is in some insane form, as is Liam Coltman (67) and Braydon Ennor (59). It's hard to imagine Nelson not climbing into the top 4 soon if his 'Saders keep starting. To top it off, this weeks win takes him to 2 zip in the head to head.

White Linen Hides the Sinning 494 defeats 403 Coles-Royce
When you draw Nsync's (insert not punny random long name) you generally think the win is all but locked in. Cargie thought he could play down an outside back, but the plan backfired when Sean Wainui got pulled pregame with a hip injury to shatter his outside backs. In the end only Henry Speight (1 point) took played in the backfield for Coles-Royce. Josh Ioane (62 points) continues his rich vein of form since getting the 10 jersey back, while his halves partner Aaron Smith (57) also went big. His front row delivered through Allan Alaalatoa (47) and Agustin Creevy (41), but that's where the good times ended. Nsync has languished at the bottom of the table for most of the season, but things are starting to look up for the Rugby League fan. His win brings him within 7 points of both 3rd and 4th place, and with that, his finals chances are well and truly alive. Nsync had the Fantasy Man of the Round to thank for the win, Jordie Barrett (116 points). Dillyn Leyds (64) and Handre Pollard (47) also did their part, but there is no doubt he needs Hooper (30) and Semisi Masirewa (25) to pick their form back up. After two matchups the pair have split the points for 1 win each.
