White Linen Hides the Sinning 493 defeats 457 Marximum Louw Groomed Maddogs
The first person to ever loose their match up and jump to the top of the table, Wylie seems to have it all figured out! Despite that, Nsync got this one done to take his winning streak to three, launching him out of the wooden spoon playoff. Nsync's top dog was Pita Gus Sowakula (68 points) with Dillyn Leyds (54) not far behind. Michael Hooper (40) and Schalk Brits (40) did their part and with it, the Rugby League fans finals dream lives! Wylie managed to get an attacking and losing bonus point to jump into first this week, he had the likes of Damian Fitzpatrick (62 points), Jack Maddocks (52), Dan du Preez (45), Reece Hodge (41) score him just enough. Nsync's win keeps his dignity intact as the match up sits at Blake 2 - Nsync 1.
Coles-Royce 734 defeats 502 Otere is the new Black
And they called him Cargie's Bitch. This match up is the first to finish 3-0. I say finish, because despite posting the third highest score, Nelson's loss drops him down to 7th place and firmly out of finals contention. Nelson did manage a bonus points though, with no help from Sevu Reece (8) who continues his slide in form. Tate McDermott (60 points) topped his scores, but he wasn't alone with Liam Coltman (50), new man Angus Cottrell (49), Kwagga Smith (46), Nepo Laulala (43), Harry Hoopert (42) and Jean-Luc du Preez (40) all playing well. We have a new highest score ever! Cargie scored a mind numbingly big 734 with only 14 men! The inspired pickup of Marika Koroibete (103 points) against the Sunwolves started it off, but Tevita Kuridrani (85), Waisake Naholo (70), Damian de Allende (64), Aaron Smith (61), Dane Haylett-Petty (56), Allan Alaalatoa (51), Taniela Tupou (46) and Pete Samu (43) all killed it... So pretty much everybody. To top it off Cargie now has the highest points for the season, but it still isn't enough for him to climb any higher than fourth place.
Burnin' Bridges 420 defeats 396 Clan Mckenzie
When you play Larry you hope to steal a cheap win, and that's exactly how it went. Nabung snuck a win despite having the second lowest score of the round, and it means he stays firmly in contention not only for finals, but also only a bonus point win from the top of the table. Lukhan Salakaia-Loto (57 points) top scored, while Seabelo Senatla (48) and Sekope Kepu (46) were the other notable mentions. Larry's made some smart trades in the last few weeks but he still can't catch a break. He managed a losing bonus point off the back of Ramiro Moyano (73 points) who scored a brace of tries, while Etene Nanai-Seturo (58), Alex Mafi (49) and Makazole Mapimpi (45) all turned it on. The match up finishes at Nabung 2 - Larry 1.
The Great White Hope 527 defeats 442 Call Me Big Papali'i
Blake's Great White Hope have continued their good form with another bonus point win over the previously top tanked Harry. Despite the win he stays in third place in the ultra competitive run towards the finals. No one cracked the 60s for Blake, but the entire team scored well, led by Atu Moli (54 points) who made a thousand tackles against the Reds this week. RG Snyman (50), David Havili (42) and Rob Thompson (41) were the others worth a shout. How the mighty have fallen! Three weeks and three losses means the cocky have cocked up! Harry may have snuck 3 bonus points from his last two losses, but this week he got nothing for his troubles. To make matters worse he gave away Lachlan McCaffrey, who plays against the Sunwolves in rd 16 to Blake, who took the chocolates and the prize. Hershel Jantjies (63 points) was immense, while Santiago Medrano (45) and Melani Nanai (40) also did their job. But that's as good as it got for the former top placed Harry, he now sits on 2nd, below the new OG League leader Wylie on total points alone. The competition is snapping at his heels, He needs to stop the slide ASAP or he is now a very real chance of missing finals all together. Blake holds the series lead 2- 1 in 2019, lets hope they get a chance to go one more round before this is all done.
