Loni Uhila (Hurricanes) – Came off the bench for the Hurricanes in Rd 12. Karmichael Hunt (Reds) – Came back from his bruised knee. Kyle Godwin (Brumbies) – Returned from his broken hand. Jordan Smiler (Brumbies) – Hamstring injury Rd 7, Started Rd 12. Sean McMahon (Rebels) – Came off the bench and played 39 minutes in Rd 12. Lionel Cronje (Kings) – Concussion in Rd 10. Started for the Kings in Rd 12. Andries Ferreira (Lions) - Started at lock for the Lions against the Brumbies and looked back to his old self. Richard Buckman (Highlanders) – Back from his Achilles injury and took his No12 jersey back. Patrick Tuipulotu (Blues) – Started after coming back from his back injury. Hanro Liebenberg (Bulls) – Captained the Blues in Rd 12. Thomas Lavanini (Jaguares) – ACL reconstruction – back via the bench in Rd 12. Juan Manuel Leguizamón (Jaguares) – Knee Ligament Damage. Started in Rd 12.

New Injuries Rd 12

Colby Fainga'a (Rebels) - Injured pregame again Campbell Magnay (Rebels) - Concussion + left with the U20's side Matt Todd (Crusaders) - To undergo Concussion protocols Scott Barrett (Crusaders) - Tweaked his knee and ankle, out for three weeks so should play in the Crusaders Rd 16 clash. Pauliasi Manu (Blues) - Calf tear Pier Francis (Blues) - Injured his knee in the Rd 12 clash and managed to play on until half time. No news on if this injury will keep him out of Rd 13 yet. Ihia West (Blues) –  Came off the bench on his way back from an ankle injury in Rd 12 but will be rested in Rd 13. Waisake Naholo (Highlanders) - Banned for Rd 13 for a shoulder charge. Charlie Ngatai (Chiefs) - Developed a headache during training. This is being treated as a concussion symptom so who knows what this means for his future. RG Snyman (Bulls) - Red Carded for a shoulder charge to the head. Banned for 4 weeks starting from Rd 13. Patrick Lambie (Sharks) -To undergo Concussion protocols, will not travel to Singapore for Rd 13. Jeremy Ward (Sharks) - Broken nose, had surgery to make sure he was beautiful. No contact for 4-5 weeks. Raymond Rhule (Cheetahs) -To undergo Concussion protocols Chris Cloete (Kings) - Concussion, set to miss Rd 13 then go through return to play protocols for the Rd 14 tour. Masixole Banda (Kings) - Hamstring injury, unlikely to play Rd 13 but still waiting on an MRI to determine the severity. CJ Velleman (Kings) – Reinjured his knee in training during the week and will require surgery.

Tim Nanai-Williams (Chiefs) – Dislocated shoulder rd 3. Named on the wing for this week. Finlay Christie (Chiefs) – 3 week ban for stamping on an opponent’s head, starts Rd10 Aaron Cruden (Chiefs) – Recovered from concussion to be available this week. Sam Whitelock (Crusaders) – Coming back from his 2 week ban. Jone Macilai (Crusaders) - Played club rugby Rd 12. Sonny-Bill Williams (Blues) – Concussion, named to play Rd 13. Ben Smith (Highlanders) – Sprained ankle, not on the plane for the 2 weeks tour of SA. Aiming to return May 20th against the Force. Lima Sopoaga (Highlanders) – Hamstring injury, should play Rd 13. Jimmy Tupou (Blues) – Hamstring, said to be out for 1 wk on the 8th of March. Back for Rd 13? Patrick Lambie (Sharks) - Concussed in Rd 12, likely back RD 13 but who knows with concussion these days! Lopeti Timani (Rebels)– Missed 4 games for kneeing Rory Arnold, Back Rd 13. Juan De Jongh (Stormers) – Available for Rd 13. Damian De Allende (Stormers) – Returned to full training this week (RD 12), Available for Rd 13. Seabelo Senatla (Stormers) – Returned to full training this week (RD 12), Available for Rd 13. Eben Etzebeth (Stormers) – Sent home to SA with a niggling calf injury. Likely back Rd 13 after the bye. Pieter-Steph du Toit (Stormers) - Sent home to SA with a niggling knee injury. Likely back Rd 13 after the bye. Frans Malherbe (Stormers) – Rested for Rd 11 due to the Springbok management plan. Back Rd 13. Ruan Combrinck (Lions) – Got through his club game so should be available for the super rugby side again. Now we are just waiting to see if they fly him on tour for Rd 12 Madosh Tambwe (Lions) – Meant to be on leave with the South African under 20’s side but couldn’t get a passport. Played in the Lions development side in Rd 11, available for selection asap but will struggle to get game time. Faf De Klerk (Lions) – Rested for Rd12. Jaco Kriel (Lions) - knee injury, not on Aussie tour so back earliest rd 13. Arno Botha (Bulls) – Knee injury. Cleared for Rd 13. JT Jackson (Bulls) – Cleared for Rd 13. Ruan Steenkamp (Bulls) – Knee injury. Cleared for Rd 13. Ruan Lerm (Kings) – Ankle injury, back in training, no decision yet on his availability for this week. Liaki Moli (Sunwolves) – Concussion. Sent home to Japan, likely back rd 13 after the bye.

Ongoing Injury List: NEW ZEALAND

Highlanders Liam squire – Fractured thumb. Out for 6 weeks, back after the international break. Could be fit for the start of the Lions series. Luke Whitelock – Calf tear during training this week.

Hurricanes Nehe Milner-Skudder – Fractured Metatarsals (injured Rd 3). Now running with a change of direction. Won't play Rd 13 but is a maybe for Rd 14 onwards. Matt Proctor – Remains sidelined with Concussion Symptoms. Dane Coles – Is able to do some light exercise without suffering any headaches or discomfort in his torn calf (Updated Rd 13). Michael Fatialofa – Having surgery for his dislocated knee cap. “May” return this year. Reggie Goodes – Ongoing concussion symptoms – out for unknown time. Callum Gibbins - Shoulder injury.

Chiefs Nil

Crusaders Digby Ioane – Re-aggravated his pinky finger injury now requiring an operation. Digby has said he was out for five weeks (back Rd 13) but his coach has said there is no timeframe on his recovery. Kieran Read – Broken Thumb – had surgery after Rd10, normally 6weeks out. Israel Dagg (Crusaders) – Patella injury sustained rd 3. Played club rugby in Rd12 so should be back for Rd 13. (UPDATE) Dagg has travelled to Suva but will be doing promotional work, he will return to play against the Rebels on May 27.

Blues Rene Ranger – is still out with a sore ankle (updated rd 10). Jerome Kaino – Out for 6 weeks from Rd 10. Meniscus tear going for surgery.

AUSTRALIA Waratahs Jack Dempsey – Right ankle/ leg injury sustained in rd 4. 8-12 wks out. Andrew Kellaway – Ruled out for three to six weeks with facial fracture, expected back Rd Rd 12-14 Taqele Naiyaravoro – In “Major Doubt” for Rd 11 after scans on a hand injury. Hopefully he will be back for the May 21 game against the Rebels.

Brumbies Leslie Leulua’iali’i-Makin – TBA. Tomas Cubelli – Patella Tendon, hoping to be back for the international break. Scott Sio – Patella and medial ligament, facing ~2 months on the sideline from Rd 10.

Reds Nil

Force Dane Haylet-Petty – Hamstring injury – Out for up to 10 weeks (Early July). Luke Morahan – fractured cheekbone in Rd 9. Ben McCalman – Refractured his Scapula (for the 3rd time) against the Kings. McCalman will miss at least two more games but hopes to be back in time to take on the Reds in Queensland on May 26. Jermaine Ainsley – Dislocated elbow, probably season. Kane Koteka – Returned to full training after concussion. Marcel Brache – Concussion Rd 10 Ben Daley – Concussion Rd 10

Rebels Nic Stirzaker – Ankle injury, Expected out for 3 weeks – Back Rd 13 Steve Cummins – Concussion, return date TBC. Jordy Reid – Stress fracture in the back. Out for up to 6 weeks from Rd 6 Culum Retallick – Concussion, return date TBC. Sam Jefferies – Ankle, indefinite. Harley Fox – Ankle 10-12 weeks. Semisi Tupou – Knee, 3-4 weeks. Cruz Ah-Nau – Knee, 3-4 weeks. Jack Maddocks – Playing in the Aussie U20’s squad Tim Metcher – Foot, 2-4 weeks. Matt Philip – Foot, no news on return yet. Richie Arnold – Calf, no news yet. Michael Ruru – Injured not sure with what.

SOUTH AFRICA Sharks Keegan Daniel – Fractured forearm . Played club rugby in Rd 10. Expected back soon. Andre Esterhuizen – 6 Week ban starting Rd 10. Curwin Bosch – Now joined the SA U20’s side to train for the upcoming world cup. Unlikely to play again this season.

Stormers Jean-Luc du Plessis – Is progressing well following a pelvic bone stress injury, hoping to get a game in the Super Sport Challenge in 2-3 weeks (updated before Rd 13). Scarra Ntubeni – Back running after ruptured achillies last year Steph de Wit – Fractured his ankle, the bone healing well after surgery. Rynhardt Elstadt – Complete syndesmosis, to undergo surgery and will be out for 3 months. Huw Jones – Torn hamstring, to undergo surgery. Jacobus Janse van Rensburg – Torn a bicep muscle in Rd 10 and will be out for 4-6 weeks. Kurt Coleman – Tore a deltoid ligament in his ankle, no news on return date but it won’t be before their Rd 12 bye. Robert du Preez – Torn pectoral muscle, could undergo surgery which would rule him out for the season.

Lions Dylan Smith – Shoulder operation – 4 months Rohan Janse Van Rensburg – LCL & Posterolateral corner injury. Out for 12 weeks, Should be the season. Jaco Van Der Walt – Dislocated foot, Hopefully back in 4 weeks (Rd 12)

Cheetahs Nico Lee – Grade 2 ankle injury, sidelined for 4-6 weeks, back after the June break – Rd 15. Paul Schoeman – Blood clots of the lungs. Unlikely to be back before the international window at best.

Kings Rudi Van Rooyen – Ankle Surgery. Out for 12 weeks. Schalk Ferreira – Torn Biceps – had an operation, Aiming to be right for the last 3 rounds of the season. Waylon Murray – Hamstring injury, sent home from tour of Aus. Waiting on further scans for more news. Michael Willemse – Appendix removed, back after the international break. Malcolm Jaer – MCL injury in Rd 9. The coaches are "Happy with his progress" so surely that doesn't mean he will play Rd 13.

Bulls John-Roy Jenkinson – Grade 2 hamstring injury. To miss at least 1 more week. Handre Pollard – Ankle Injury, out for 8-10 weeks (late June). Dries Swanepoel – Expected back Rd 13. Jonny Kotze – Expected back Rd 10-11 Travis Ismaiel – Knee injury that will keep him out for six weeks, back after the international break. Jacques Potgieter – High blood pressure for an unknown reason, being pulled from play until it has been looked into.

ARGENTINA/JAPAN Jaguares Ramiro Moyano – AC jt sprain against the Sharks , the Argentinian papers say he is already in full contact training and could be back soon (Updated for Rd 13). Emiliano Boffelli – Ruptured extensor tendon of his index finger. Cleared to train normally with the finger braced. Unclear if this will affect his chances of being picked. Nicolas Sanchez - “Suffered a spasm in the ischio-tibial left during training yesterday” – Translation… Ummmm Hamstring? Marcos Kremer – Concussion, going through the return to play protocols.

Sunwolves Taakaki Nakazuru – Went off 3 minutes in to the game after a big hit (Rd 9). No further news. Takeshi Kizu  -Reported as injured, not travelling to Argentina. No other news available Heiichiro ito  – stretchered off after a scrum- looks like neck Teruya Goto – Injured before half time – leg?? Hayden Cripps – Right knee injury Fumiaki Tanaka – Reported as injured, not travelling to Argentina. No other news available Jamie-Jerry Taulagi – Red card – Banned for 5 weeks, Can return to play after June 10.

Lausii Tauilali (Brumbies) – ACL Christian Lealifano (Brumbies) – Leukemia Howard Minsi (Lions) – ACL James Broadhurst (Hurricanes) – Retired due to Concussion Blade Thomson (Hurricanes) – Having a shoulder reconstruction. James Slipper (Reds) – Torn Achillies Ryan Louwrens (Western Force) – Ruptured ACL Chance Peni (Western Force) – Ruptured Groin, out for the season. Dom Shipperley (Rebels) – Knee Mick Snowden (Rebels) – Syndesmosis injury, Out for the season. Pama Fou (Rebels) – Knee Alex Toolis (Rebels) – Neck Rob Leota (Rebels) – Knee Justin Forwood (Kings) – Tore an ACL against the Rebels. Having a reconstruction and won’t be seen again in 2017.
