THE STOCK MARKET RD 9
THE BEST PLACE TO GET ALL YOUR FANTASY SUPER RUGBY STOCK MARKET INFORMATION AND TRENDS. YOU CAN'T RESIST MY STATS! I GOT THE NUMBERS TO WAKE YOU FROM YOUR SLUMBER. I GOT THE BLUE CHIPS, BETTER THAN ANY OTHER TIPS. I GOT THE SMOKIES THAT...... I JUST GOT THE SMOKIES.
How about that weekend? Our blue chip from last week, Toni Pulu (62 points), managed to bag himself a brace of tries against the Cheetahs, while our smokey, Manasa Mataele (77 points), ran in a hat trick of tries against the Sunwolves in Christchurch.
Blue Chips – Buy! Buy! Buy!
Waisake Naholo (Highlanders) Fox Fantasy Price $479K - The electric winger has been named to take field for the first time since injuring his hamstring in the 15th minute of the Round 3 clash with the Blues. In 165 minutes this year, the Fijian Flyer has scored 139 fantasy points and he should be expected to run riot against the Sunwolves this week.
The Smokies – Buy low, sell high
Vaea Fifita (Hurricanes) Fox Fantasy Price $233K - Having only played 90 minutes this season due to injury, you wouldn't be mistaken if he had fallen off your radar. The 6ft 5" lock from Wellington has been named to start his first match of the season as an injury replacement for the injured Michael Fatialofa who could be facing a lengthy stint on the sidelines. Make no mistake Fifita wont be looking to make up the numbers against the Brumbies, with the 8th highest average for a lock last season he could be a real force in the coming weeks.
Matt Faddes (Highlanders) Fox Fantasy Price $194K - This years form may not do wonders for Faddes' stocks, but this man sure knows how to play the game they play in heaven. Lining up against Super Rugby easy beats, the Sunwolves, we may witness another performance like his against the Kings last year when he bagged a hat trick of tries.
Taqele Naiyaravoro (Waratahs) Fox Fantasy Price $192K - If I were Daryl Gibson Naiyaravoro would be used as an impact player, coming off the bench in the final 20 minutes to barnstorm his way through the lethargic defence. Yet this week the poor man's Lomu comes up against the Kings, who are likely to field Masixole Banda at fullback. Standing at 5ft 5" and weight 69kgs dripping wet, Banda may be to small to even act as speed bump for Naiyaravoro's 6ft 5", 115kg frame. It is important to note that there is a lot of competition around the Waratahs' 11 and 14 jerseys, so this trade should only be considered on a short term basis.
Rising Stocks - Players who starting to build form and may be worth picking up
Ned Hanigan (Waratahs) Fox Fantasy Price $246K - The stocks of this young gun just continue to rise and since coach Gibson initiated the Hanigan experiment, the lock turned flanker has made the 6 jersey his own. At a ripe age of 22 years old his improving impact across the paddock will provide hope to Waratahs and Wallabies fans alike. With the ability to cover lock and blindside flanker the country boy has demonstrated he is good with ball in hand, solid at the lineout and an effective tackler. Keep this up and he may be in line for higher honours.
Cam Clark (Waratahs) Fox Fantasy Price $123K - The ex-Aussie 7s representative has had little opportunity in his debut season, however he has earned himself his 3rd start in a row against the Kings. If he can continue to familiarise himself with the 15 man game and go searching for the ball more often, he is likely to hold down a starting position during Kellaway's absence (4-6 weeks). With upcoming matches against the Kings, Reds and Rebels this he is an interesting prospect over the coming weeks and someone to keep an eye on.
Hold - Watch this space
Santiago Cordero (Jaguares) Fox Fantasy Price $222K - It may be to early to rid your team of a class player such as Cordero, however his recent form leaves me worried. Not once this season has he knocked up double digits in the runs column or triple digits in the run metres column and he is missing almost 2 tackles a game. With an average score to date in 2017 of 23 points, he is a far cry from the dominant force he was last season (38.4 points a week). A cushy back end to the season with matches against the Sunwolves, Force, Kings and Rebels in their final 5 matches, he is a player worth hanging onto.
Falling Stocks – The most overvalued players moving forwards, advised to trade
Ramiro Moyano (Jaguares) Fox Fantasy Price $373K - With an average of 36 points he currently stands ahead of the likes of Israel Folau (35.7 points), Melani Nanai (33.1 points) and Toni Pulu (29.2 points) however I believe it is time to say adiós to Argentinian. With the recent return of Emiliano Boffelli and the impending return of Manuel Montero, Moyano is likely to see less and less time over the coming weeks.
